Galerie Old Chelsea is pleased to present a new exhibition by Sarah Bradfield a National Capital Region artist whose latest body of work explores the dynamic relationship between landscape, movement, and light across Ottawa and the Outaouais.

Drawing inspiration from the region’s natural environments, Bradfield’s paintings often begin with waterways but extend far beyond them. Her work captures a sense of place through a distinctive visual language defined by detailed linework, bold colour palettes, and soft, fluid blending. The result is a compelling balance between intricacy and openness—where structure meets motion, and stillness coexists with energy.

Bradfield’s fascination with movement is central to the exhibition. Using bold shapes and vibrant hues, she translates the shifting rhythms of the landscape into compositions that feel both grounded and alive. Each piece invites viewers to experience familiar environments in new and unexpected ways, emphasizing the emotional and sensory qualities of the land. This exhibition highlights Bradfield’s evolving practice and her continued exploration of how colour, form, and line can evoke the essence of a place rather than simply depict it.

Galerie Old Chelsea, which features local artists, is located in the beautiful Gatineau Hills.
