The Grand Nord exhibition will be on display from April 10 to June 7, 2026.

Photographer Valérian Mazataud worked with residents of his Montreal North neighborhood to recreate scenes from everyday life in the past. He searched through photographic archives and family albums and then, during workshops, reconstructed these photos, imagining a world at the crossroads of eras and cultures.

Nearly a hundred participants—from Quebec, Haiti, El Salvador, and Turkey—contributed to this co-creation process. The result is a series of diptychs in which past and present echo each other, revealing both the evolution of urban Quebec and the perspective of newcomers on their host society.

We invite you to attend the exhibition opening on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 7 to 9 p.m. Admission is free.
