Artist Camille Lescarbeau's exhibition "La Compression des instants" will be on view at Espace Pierre-Debain from April 11 to June 2, 2024.

La Compression des instants is a pictorial and sculptural installation of handmade paper made from waste. By molding waste paper into simulacra of plastic waste, the artist aims to reveal the long time dedicated to the care of matter.

In the exhibition, the past (a packet of gum) and the future (the paper sculpture) meet. The temporalities of these objects contrast: on the one hand, the slow, even infinite temporality of plastic, and on the other, the rapid temporality of paper. This exhibition is a tribute to obsolete materials, their pasts, their histories and their secrets, compressed here to reveal their infinite potential.
