Biography of Virginie Charland (trainer):

Virginie has been a professional actor in the Outaouais region since 2018. She made her stage debut at the National Arts Centre with a reading of Tapage et autres bruits sourds, a text by Les Poids Plumes. In 2020, Virginie graduated magna cum laude from the University of Ottawa with a bachelor's degree in theatre, specializing in performance. Since then, she has performed with Théâtre Catapulte, Fâcheux Théâtre, Théâtre Mauve Sapin, Théâtre de la Vieille 17, Théâtre Rouge Écarlate, Théâtre Tremplin and many others. In addition to her love of acting, Virginie also has a keen interest in costume design. While working as a costume designer at the University of Ottawa from 2016 to 2020, she took a course in costume design taught by Noémie Avidar. She then designed three costumes for final-year master's students at the University of Ottawa. She also designed the costumes for the final show of the first cohort of the BPT at the University of Ottawa in 2022. Virginie recently designed La fuite de l'hippocampe, a co-production of Vox théâtre and Les vagabondes. The show will be presented at Undercurrent in February 2024 and at the Tout petit festival in May 2024. Thanks to her experience as an actor, Virginie understands the important issues to consider when designing costumes, both from an overall perspective and for the comfort of the actors.
