Mehdi Cayenne, a veritable beast of the stage in the international French-speaking world, is back in force with an electrifying new show, featuring a more electro-pop sound tinged with hip-hop that leaves plenty of room for his legendary energy.

More accessible and channelled than ever before, her zest for life has been honed by thousands of shows in Quebec and every province of Canada, as well as in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Russia and Armenia. With a new album in the oven for 2023 and a triumph of 6 Trille Or awards in the summer of 2021, the artist is ready to heat things up like never before!

Mehdi Cayenne is a free electron, a true unclassifiable in the international French-speaking world. A crazy crooner who's not afraid of paradoxes, he's back to set the Quebec stage alight with a new sound all his own. With hypnotic ease on stage, this mad dog has wanted to dance himself to death: in schools, prisons, homes for refugee families, old people's homes, from the back alleys of New York to the University of Moscow, standing on a bar in Naples or jumping up and down in front of 10,000 people at the Esplanade des Invalides... He has played all over Canada, as well as in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Luxembourg, Armenia and Russia.

With a vast palette of sounds blending the soft and the abrasive, this big mad dog with disarming charisma has - over the course of his last four albums "Luminata" in 2011, "Na Na Boo Boo" in 2013, "Aube" in 2015 and "Radio Batata" in 2019 - developed his eclectic, minimalist and evocative approach. With an ardour and accent that are impossible to cage, this proven performer masters his groove like no one else: he has opened for such rare birds as Michel Rivard, 2Frères, Martha Wainwright, Dumas, Jérome 50, Luc Delarochellière and many others.

All orange and lip-grey light, Mehdi unveils a dancing maelstrom of new songs, mixing diasporic alt-pop with a dazzling pen, masterfully delivered in precise, hair-raising gestures. Quebec audiences will be the first in the French-speaking world to discover these previously unreleased and atypical songs - all taken from a new album due for release in autumn 2023.

The performance is made possible by the Quebec government's Plan de relance économique du milieu culturel.
