Ambient Ensemble: Artist Talk | NICK SCHOFIELD

For our first Audio Circle meetup of the year, join us for a meeting with artist Nick Schofield at the Centre de production DAÏMÔN.

The artist talk will focus on the production of Nick's third studio album Ambient Ensemble, which was released in February 2024 via Halifax-based label Backward Music. During the presentation, Nick will open up Ableton Live sessions to review the album's creation, including recording in a church, vintage synthesizers, production techniques, workflow and lessons learned along the way.

This event will be held in the BlackBox at DAÏMÔN. No registration or fee required to participate.

THE ARTIST |

Nick Schofield is a Gatineau-based musician, producer and self-proclaimed ambassador of ambient music. He has been dubbed a "dazzling electronic artist" by Aquarium Drunkard and "synth maven" by Constellation Records. Nick has previously performed at National Sawdust in New York City, the National Arts Centre in Ottawa and MUTEK in Montreal. He has released three solo albums with Backward Music and is currently working on a new live hardware set that merges his love of ambient aesthetics and the euphoric energy of emotional dance music.
