The Great Aylmer Fire broke out on a beautiful, sunny day on August 10, 1921. Aylmer’s heritage sites preserve many reminders of this devastating fire. The speed at which the flames spread continues to haunt the imagination of the Aylmer community. This guided tour revisits the sites associated with this tragic fire and highlights the many changes that have transformed the urban landscape of this historic neighborhood.
