Take part in the Experience Asia 2024 event on May 18!


Gatineau is celebrating Asian Heritage Month in style with its Experience Asia event. This year, the 17th edition of the event will be held at Maison du citoyen on May 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a diversified program to please the whole family. Activities include music, song, dance, traditional food and crafts, as well as a variety of opportunities for cultural exchange. The event is an opportunity to discover the communities that make up Gatineau's cultural fabric, to meet new people and to live together. Some 15 countries will be represented.

SHOWS (Salle des Fêtes)


11:00 am: Welcome of participants and First Nations welcome ceremony

11:20 a.m.: Musical performance by the Playboy Band and Oto-Wa Taiko: From Generation to Generation

11:30 a.m.: Filipino dance troupe from Ottawa

11:45 a.m.: Cambodian dance

12:00 p.m.: Angklung music and dance from Indonesia

12:20 p.m.: Laotian-style line dancing accompanied by the Playboy Band

12:40 p.m.: French-Canadian square dance by David Finkle & Anthony Brascoupe

1:00 p.m.: Music and dance from Korea

1:15 p.m.: Dance from Iran

1:30 p.m.: Dance and Zumba from Turkey

1.45pm: Dance from Afghanistan

2.00 pm: Traditional dance from Sri Lanka

2.15pm: Dance from India

2.30 pm: Japanese group Oto-Wa Taiko

2.50 pm: Playboy Band

3:00 pm: Closing with the song Saturday Night in Gatineau
