    Capitaine, a former naval gunner and now a deep-sea fisherman, is raising his daughter Mia in the hope that she will take over his fishing business. When Capitaine learns that Mia wants to move to the city, he suppresses an inner rage, and his time at residential school resurfaces. When he discovers that Mia has left the reserve and is in danger, he immediately sets out on a tense quest that takes him from the open sea to downtown Montreal in the hope of finding her.
