Spectacle place Laval: Les Peintres
*Doors open at 6:30 p.m.*
Les Peintres is a group of circus artists who started a renovation company to get a “real job” after all the budget cuts in the cultural sector! They’re just waiting for one thing: a break so they can play, dance, and perform circus acts! A family-friendly show that uses humor, juggling, and acrobatics to explore
themes of artists’ precarious livelihoods, renovations, the recognition of art as a profession, and the plight of the artist who struggles to work against their nature.
Born on a street corner in Hochelaga, Collectif 4237 brings together artists from all walks of life to present unpretentious shows where circus meets dance, live music, and physical theater. On the streets of Montreal and beyond, the collective’s cabarets are an explosion of festive acts for the whole family.
In the studio, Collectif 4237 presents high-quality collaborative research and creations where the body, light, and sound serve as powerful expressive tools.
