Ryth Kesselring – Geometric Ecosystems: From Texture to Sound
Installation
Geometric Ecosystems: From Texture to Sound immerses the visitor in a reflection on land management in the Western world through various textile, photographic, and sound installations. The creations move from fibrous structures to sonic patterns, from organic forests to linear chimeras and geometric compositions. The works highlight current environmental, political, and societal issues related to the standardization of our habitats and lifestyles. The exhibition reads like a musical score unfolding over time; an echo that shifts from subtle ancestral rhythms to the frenzied, repetitive beats of our Cartesian era.
Opening reception: November 5, from 6 to 8 PM, in the presence of the artist.
About the location
Art-image et espace Odyssée
The Centre d'exposition Art-image and the Odyssée space at the Maison de la culture de Gatineau are two exhibition spaces whose mandate is to disseminate current and contemporary art in order to increase public awareness and appreciation of these practices. Both spaces present exhibitions by professional artists. These artists come from the region, the province and the country. Once a year, the Émergence programme gives young artists from the Federal Capital Region the opportunity to exhibit their work in a professional environment.
