Run de lait
For this theatrical documentary, Justin Laramée spoke to a number of experts, including dairy producers and processors, in addition to offering us a brief 8,000-year history of milk! Between jubilant humor and rigorous investigation, the author also tackles farm industrialization, consumer responsibilities, animal welfare and the environment. A complex and fascinating universe, delivered in an accessible and deeply human text. Run de lait premiered at Le Trident in Quebec City in March 2022. Its author, Justin Laramée, has participated in over forty theatrical works as playwright, actor and director, three hats he also wears for this play - orchestrated alongside Olivier Normand. On stage, the author is accompanied by his accomplice and musician Benoît Côté. "Run de lait, for all its humor and apparent lightness, is a real punch in the gut. [...] A disturbing but indispensable show, to be placed on the side of ecological criticism of the global food industry." - Alain-Martin Richard, Jeu Revue de Théâtre "Run de lait is an important work that all Quebecers and consumers of dairy products owe it to themselves to see [...] With his innate talent for humor, the investigator-artist gently mocks public figures to our great delight." - Valérie Marcoux, Le Soleil "An entertaining run: Successful, well-shot documentary theater. [...] You learn things. There's rhythm. There are moments of emotion and we laugh out loud." - Yves Leclerc, Journal de Québec
