ROMMEL
Rommel is an award-winning Brazilian singer-songwriter, musician and producer who stands out for his talent and versatility. Blending elements of Brazilian popular music with afro-beat, reggae, funk and jazz, Rommel breathes and breathes authentic, dynamic music with compositions in Portuguese, French, Spanish and English.
His most recent album is entitled KARAWARA. ‘Karawara' is a polysemous word of Tupi-Guarani origin (from the family of lowland languages of South America) which, among other denotations, refers to “the spirits of the forest”. In this sense, Karawara pays tribute to the world's indigenous peoples and their history of struggle for fundamental human rights and recognition. Karawara also addresses the themes of ancestry, spirituality and environmental and social issues, using music as a means to spread a message of peace, hope, humanity and compassion.
