Théâtre Dérives Urbaines invites you to take a theatrical journey back in time to an era in the City of Gatineau marked by industrialization, workers' unionization and the courage of girls and women determined to assert their rights. Accompanied by Michel Prévost, President of the Société d'histoire de l'Outaouais, you'll encounter the fascinating history of the matchmakers.

This guided tour will take you, on foot, all the way back to the 1924 counter-strike between the E.B. Eddy bosses and the match factory workers. Along the way, you'll meet an American entrepreneur, a young female worker, a clergyman and a pioneer of the labour movement.

In September 2024, come and support the cause of the matchmakers and hold your sign high alongside an experienced guide and professional actors!

Free, by reservation only (limited number of places).
