Dorice, a curious little cat, learns that her neighbor, Mr. Nicolas, is said to have “died of grief over having wasted his life.” With her friend Hector, a mouse, she sets out to meet people who seem to have succeeded in life: a very wealthy businessman, a popular singer with international success, a cheerful cafeteria worker, a hermit living in a cave, and, finally, the Sun and the Moon.
What if it weren’t about succeeding or failing in life, but simply about living? With this poetic, philosophical, and humorous tale, François Archambault offers an existential reflection on the meaning we give to our lives.
