Mia Kelly
Mia Kelly is a bilingual singer-songwriter based in the Ottawa-Gatineau region. Blending folk, blues, rock and Americana, Mia's powerful voice is filled with deeply themed stories and raw emotion. With an EP to her name, she will be releasing her debut album 'Garden Through the War'. Produced and mixed at Fixed Hinge Studio by Jim Bryson and mastered by Grammy-nominated Phillip Shaw Bova, the album demonstrates the maturity of Kelly's songwriting. Exploring the theme of resilience, the album has already received recognition from the SOCAN Foundation. Mia has charmed audiences across Canada (Festival des Montgolfières de Gatineau, Bluesfest, Salle Odyssée, Summerfolk Fest, Blueskies Folk Festival, etc.). Named one of Ottawa's ten artists to watch in 2020, she was also chosen as one of Télé Québec's five "artists to watch" (2019). Mia has also received accolades from SOCAN, an international song contest (Blues and Roots Radio), and as a participant in the Folk Music Ontario conference. Playing guitar or piano and self-accompanied by percussion, her powerful voice shares raw emotion. The 20-year-old artist draws inspiration from the likes of Shakey Graves, Matt Holubowski and Adrienne Lenker. Mia creates a unifying, heart-warming experience that fills the audience's heart. With her joyful energy and sense of humour, Mia Kelly's sweet melodies and thoughtful songwriting make her an artist on the rise. Together with Nick Loyer, they light up the stage with an electric performance. The two powerful singers create a dynamic duo with songs that come from the heart. Their friendship, passion and melodies will leave you wanting more. "Her passion and good humour are contagious and her talent exceeds all expectations. A complete artist and human being! -Marie-Claude D'Aoust - Festival Des Montgolfières de Gatineau "The performance is made possible by the Quebec government's Plan de relance économique du milieu culturel."
