Malaimé Soleil a striking band with a sound that stands out for its oxymoronic quality, juxtaposing the weight of troubles with childlike gaiety. Stylistically, you could call it alternative pop-rock, but it's only with a deeper listen that you better discern Quebecois trad influences in the vocals, desert blues in the guitar, Latin music in the legs, 80s synthesizers and grooves reminiscent of the 70s, all adding up to a most memorable storm of madness.
