Kate Weekes is a multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter based in the Gatineau Hills. She’s released five albums of original material, informed by years working in the north as a dog musher, canoe guide, and hiking guide. Her songs sit between Appalachian balladry and folk-pop, with instrumental waltzes mixed in. Her most recent album, Rideau Roots (2025), follows a canoe route through eastern Ontario and questions the settler narrative of the Rideau Canal.
