Grèn Sémé, with three albums to their credit, reinvents Réunionese maloya with music that is poetic, organic, and decidedly danceable. Driven by the voice and socially conscious lyrics of Carlo De Sacco, the quintet fuses electronic maloya, African pop, and the ternary rhythms of the Indian Ocean to create a unique sound. With their new EP Maloya Gazé (2024), the group unveils a “gazé” maloya that reveals the sunny side of this Creole ensemble through danceable, revitalizing, and organic music perfect for remixes and the dance floor. Three explosive remixes by Voilaaa, La Dame, and Guiss Guiss Bou Bess extend the experience onto the dance floor. On stage, Grèn Sémé delivers an intense, unifying, and deeply vibrant live performance, blending rock poetry, dub grooves, and Creole trance.
