Struck by an arrow, a moose escapes its pursuers to die deep in the forest, where it becomes a feast for its fellow moose. First come wasps, flies, and beetles; then crows, bald eagles, vultures; and finally, all the carnivorous mammals of the boreal forest join the feast.
