FEMMeXPO 2024 will be presented to the general public from March 8 to June 2, 2024, at 548 rue Notre-Dame, in Montebello.

Under the theme Mouvements, this year's exhibition will feature 27 works by women artists from the Outaouais and beyond. Visitors will discover a unique exhibition in which each "FEMMeXPOSANTE" will offer her own interpretation of the theme through an original work in sculpture, drawing, painting, photography, ceramics, textiles or installation.

Opening - Saturday 9 March at 2 pm

The public is invited to the Centre Napoléon-Bourassa on Saturday 9 March at 2 p.m. to attend the opening of the exhibition, in the presence of the artists. The vernissage will include

  • a slam by Josette Noreau, a multi-talented Ottawa artist (singing, writing, performing)
  • a talk by the 27 female artists from FemmExpo, who will give a one-word answer to the question "What drives you?
  • the launch of voting for the Public's Favourite Award
  • the unveiling of the collective work directed by artist Angèle Lux and created by 24 participating women artists
  • Appetizers and beverages will be served on site.

Karaoke dinner- Saturday, March 9 at 5 p.m.

You're also invited to join in the karaoke supper following the FEMMeXPO vernissage, on Saturday 9 March at 5 p.m. at the Montebello log cabin.

A welcome cocktail will be served on arrival, followed by a "bring your own wine" dinner. Pizza, salad and dessert will be served, along with tea, coffee or soft drinks, at a cost of $25 per person.

From 7 p.m., you can swap your fork for your microphone and sing your favourite songs at the karaoke, alone, in a group or in unison!

Feminist readings and improvised dance - Saturday 23 March at 2 p.m.

To mark International Women's Rights Day, the Centre is organising a new event echoing the theme 2024, Movements, on Saturday 23 March at 2 p.m., featuring :

readings of feminist texts by local public figures, alone or in duet,

and improvised "Kinesthesis" dance interludes by Mélanie Larose and Patricia Drissens (Les Antennes/Danse).

Among the readers who took part: Céline Forget and Diane Rouleau; Michelle and Mélanie Hotte; Paul-André David and his daughter Catherine David; Véronique Filion; Nicole Laflamme and her daughter Michèle Robinson; Claude Larouche; Floralie Adam; Yves Destroismaisons; and Ève Senneville.

The event will take place at the Centre d'exposition Napoléon-Bourassa (548 rue Notre-Dame in Montebello) amid the works of FEMMeXPO 2024.
