Empreintes, a Jean Paul Riopelle exhibition
Jean Paul Riopelle's work helped bring Quebec into the modern age. In the centenary year of the artist's birth, Galerie Montcalm and the Permanent Collection present an exhibition that reveals an important aspect of his work: printmaking. In Empreintes, visitors will discover some fifty original works by Riopelle, all testifying to the artist's passion for printmaking. These lithographs and etchings, produced between 1967 and 1990, are, for the most part, treasures of the Ville de Gatineau art collection. They represent a collective heritage of inestimable cultural importance. Come and follow the evolution of the engraving work of Jean Paul Riopelle, a great creator of images who drew inspiration from nature, the seasons, fishing and hunting.
Take a guided tour of the exhibition "Empreintes; les estampes de Jean Paul Riopelle dans la Collection permanente de la Ville de Gatineau" with curator Michel V. Cheff. Guided tours are in French. Admission is free.
