Boogát is a fixture on Quebec's world music scene, with a consistently festive and innovative sound. Its blend of styles, from hip-hop to modern Latin American music, electro and other more traditional genres, has made it a household name both here and internationally.
Entitled Del Horizonte (French: de l'horizon, from the expression “beyond the horizon”), the new show takes the festive side of the performance even further, with video projections that amplify the show's interactivity and a staging that fortifies universal messages of love, communion and acceptance of differences. It directly addresses the themes of a changing Quebec, its inevitable immigration, the importance of keeping alive the spirit of rebellion and rallying to the decolonial movement already underway.
All in Spanish, with musicians combining traditional and digital instruments (from trio to quintet). To make you dance, but also think; fiesta guaranteed!
