On December 5 and 6, the Chœur classique de l'Outaouais invites you to celebrate its 40th anniversary with À tire d’ailes, a joyful concert inspired by the world of birds.

At the heart of the program is St. Francis in the Americas: A Caribbean Mass by American composer Glenn McClure—a vibrant and uplifting work that the Choir is delighted to revisit in an expanded version after first performing it in 2009. This choice reflects the special relationship the Choir has enjoyed with the composer for many years.

The program also explores the fascinating world of birds through works by Clément Janequin and Felix Mendelssohn, as well as the premiere of a new composition by composer Frédéric Lacroix, inspired by the Pileated Woodpecker, the emblematic bird of the City of Gatineau.
