The Symposium Gatineau en couleurs is the largest visual arts event in the Outaouais region. Bringing together an average of 70 painters and sculptors, selected by jury, it is held every autumn in Gatineau, and welcomes some 4,000 to 5,000 visitors.

A not-for-profit organization, the Symposium has been running since 2008 and attracts artists from all over Quebec and beyond. It has received two Symposia awards from the Académie internationale des beaux-arts du Québec, making it one of the ten most popular symposia in Quebec.

During the three days of the Symposium, visitors can visit the various participating artists' booths and see some of them at work. They can interact with the artists, expand their knowledge of visual art and acquire original works of art. A painting by a guest artist will also be raffled off at the event.
