Jardin Mystérieux Exhibit
The Centre d'exposition Napoléon-Bourassa, the main exhibition space of the Centre d'action culturelle de la MRC de Papineau, is honoured to present the exhibition Jardin mystérieux, a dreamlike universe where nature and magic intertwine thanks to the works of Gatineau artists Louise Bergeron and Lorie Schinko.
You'll be plunged into a fantastical world populated by characters with fine features and mischievous looks, who live in an ecosystem of floral sculptures and dwellings drawn from the wonderful worlds of childhood.
The plant world is made up of works created in felted wool by Lorie Schinko. This multidisciplinary artist, whose work has been shown in Canada and abroad, says she created these floral sculptures to release the tension she felt this year in the wake of the horrors being perpetrated in Ukraine. The exhibition also features paintings in which she depicts characters in symbiosis with nature.
Louise Bergeron has been making dolls for almost 25 years. Her mastery and attention to detail are remarkable, and she remains fascinated by the exploration that textile arts allow. Inspired as much by a book, an illustration or a person she meets in the street as by her own imaginary world, she looks for the right balance of textures and the right proportion of decorative elements.
The combined talents of these two artists evoke wonder, introspection and harmony in the viewer, making this exhibition an ideal holiday experience.
This unique exhibition of textile art will run from 23 November 2023 to 16 February 2024. So it's the perfect opportunity to plan a visit with family and friends, and let yourself be immersed in the hushed, mysterious atmosphere, escaping the present for a moment of enchantment.
