Héritage, an Annie Perreault exhibit
The Centre d'exposition Napoléon-Bourassa, the main exhibition space of the Centre d'action culturelle de la MRC de Papineau, will soon be hosting an immersive exhibition not to be missed. It features large-format works and installations by Outaouais multidisciplinary artist Annie Perreault.
From September 29 to November 12, the public will enjoy a dazzling multi-sensory experience, thanks to installations, paintings, a projection and works woven with polymer. All the works are conceived with recycled materials and assembled in a sensitive yet powerful way, demonstrating the artist's environmental activism and dexterity.
Aptly entitled Héritage, the exhibition addresses the need to protect nature in the face of the climate emergency, but in a way that dazzles both the beauty of the result and our awareness of our responsibility. Among the works on display are a weeping willow made of steel and bottle glass, multicolored paintings created by assembling everyday waste, and a quadriptych woven from polymers that recounts the regeneration of a forest following a fire.
The focal point of the exhibition is undoubtedly the projection of an immense glass roof created from 1852 pieces of bottle glass and reclaimed glass, using the Tiffany stained-glass technique. The canopy, projected in high definition, gives the artist the opportunity to make use of augmented reality. Join the artist and the Centre's team at the vernissage on October 7, at 2 p.m.
