A nomadic home that presents various forms of literary arts!

The Maison des arts littéraires de Gatineau (MAL) is an annual showcase of literary arts supported by the Corporation du Salon du livre de l'Outaouais. This initiative complements the Salon du livre.

The literary arts propose works that mix practices and are presented in the form of performances, participatory experiences, meetings, readings, exhibitions, physical and digital installations, and tralalère! The literary arts bring to the forefront the encounter with literary creation: an encounter between the public and the creators, but also between artistic disciplines. The watchwords are openness and diversity!

The activities are designed in close collaboration with regional, provincial, national and international partners. In these satellite activities as well as in its downtown activities, the Maison des arts littéraires is anchored in existing cultural venues: the City of Gatineau's performance halls, installations in parks and streets outside the city, partner bars and businesses, and so on. At the same time, the Maison des arts littéraires promotes the development of local authors, both emerging and established, and hopes to contribute to the retention of local creators.

The activities of the Maison des arts littéraires are supported by the City of Gatineau, the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec and Hydro-Québec.
