The Outaouais Classical Choir is a regional mixed choir of some sixty voices that has contributed to the cultural development of the Outaouais community for decades. It offers the public classical works for large choir as well as modern and contemporary music, many of them by composers and arrangers from Quebec and elsewhere in Canada. Its vocal and musical development program offered to its members allows them to develop their knowledge thanks to qualified professionals. Its concerts create employment and provide visibility for professional musicians and soloists in the region. In 1998, the Choir received the "La Création" award at the City of Hull (now Gatineau) Culturiades gala and in May 2011, the Liette-Turner Bursary from the Liette-Turner Foundation. Next year, on the occasion of its 30th anniversary, the Chœur classique de l'Outaouais will sing in France and Germany in joint concerts with two European choirs.
