At the dawn of the 50s, a handful of reckless hunters are scattered across the northeastern flank of Greenland. Confinement, solitude, rationing, harsh climatic conditions... Sometimes it's hard to keep a cool head. But the wilderness, the splendor of the vast expanses of snow and ice, and the unlikely stories of these outspoken comrades give us a thirst for adventure and freedom. Truth? Lies? Myths? Whatever the case, you're sure to be charmed by these glittering adventures!

"Racontars arctiques" is first and foremost a collection of stories filled with humor and humanity, then a series of comic strips that are a pleasure to devour. But here, it's an unparalleled, larger-than-life show, combining puppetry, storytelling, live music and sound effects in a universe that's both poetic and hilarious.

LA RUÉE VERS L'OR is an artists' collective born of the collaboration of two long-time friends. Alexandre Harvey is a composer and multi-instrumentalist. He borrows from sound effects and sampling techniques to enhance his compositions. Anne Lalancette has been a puppeteer for more than 15 years, manipulating puppets for theater, television and film.

Together, they share a singular sense of humor, and are strongly inspired by comics and genre cinema. The collective specializes in the creation of tabletop puppet shows and live music/noise effects for adult and teenage audiences. Their performances are rhythmic, imbued with contagious enthusiasm, aesthetic sensitivity and always in connivance with the audience.

Monday night's performance is a co-presentation of Ville de Gatineau and Alliance française d'Ottawa, in partnership with Les Voyagements, théâtre de création en tournée.
