Rumbaristas
Malabares
Aux mardis du monde series
Get ready for an explosion of rhythms with Rumbaristas, one of the most festive and diverse groups on the music scene today! Hailing from Belgium, Spain and France, these four musicians are rocking the stages of Europe with their skilful blend of Catalan rumba, Balkan music and Sicilian tarantella, spiced up with ska, reggae and cumbia.
Carried by the warm, driving voice of Catalan guitarist Willy Fuego (Amparanoia, La Kinky Beat), the dazzling trumpet of Thomas Morzewski (aka Don Tomasino), and backed by the energy of Tomas De Smet on bass and Roel Poriau on percussion (from Think of One), the quartet embodies the spirit of “international rumba”: music without borders, festive and deeply human.
Their latest album Malabares (2023), produced by Sergio Mendoza (Calexico, Orkesta Mendoza) with the collaboration of French-Algerian guitarist Madjid Fahem (Manu Chao), celebrates the art of métissage and musical inventiveness. With them, every concert becomes a feast for dancing, singing and celebrating cultural diversity. On their first North American tour, get ready for a musical fiesta without borders!
Willy Fuego: guitar and lead vocals
Thomas Morzewski (alias Don Tomasino): trumpet, keyboards, accordion and vocals
Tomas De Smet: bass and vocals
Roel Poriau: drums and percussion
