Représentation spéciale: Du sang neuf - Une histoire de réconciliation
Join us for a powerful and moving show that explores the life of Chief Vincent Yellow Old Woman. This heartfelt account traces his painful yet inspiring journey, from his childhood at residential school to reclaiming his heritage and becoming chief of his people. This show is a tribute not only to Chief Yellow Old Woman, but also to the strength of the people affected by the residential school system.
Each Blackfoot cast member shares their personal connection to this legacy. Many tell of how they, their parents or grandparents were victims of the residential school system. Their stories of resilience and healing, evoked throughout the show, offer a profound reflection on reconciliation.
The show features a unique blend of original poems, including the poignant The Indian in the Child, music by Peter Gabriel and a mix of contemporary and traditional Aboriginal dance. More than just a show, it's a celebration of culture, survival and the enduring spirit of a community.
In English with a bilingual introduction.
