SYNOPSIS

Agnès is a young woman who has been kept out of society from an early age. This is because Arnolphe, the middle-aged man in charge of her education, has deliberately shielded her from all outside influence to guarantee himself a docile wife foolish enough to remain faithful and obedient. Until the day Agnes meets young Horace...

Written in alexandrines by Molière, this version has been adapted into prose by Sylvain Sabatié to reflect the social issues of our time.
