The Great Aylmer Fire occurred on a sunny day on August 10, 1921. The Aylmer heritage site preserves many reminders of this devastating fire. The speed with which the flames spread still marks the imagination of the Aylmer community. This guided tour revisits the illustrious sites of the fire, and highlights the many transformations made to the urban landscape of this historic district.
