Case 606

Mired in their routine, the two cashiers at the local grocery store dream of a better life. A life of possibilities, where carrots dance, soy sauce dies of love, and sunshine tastes like pineapple! A life of freedom and synchronized swimming! Prisoners of a routine they know by heart, these women present their dreams, their aspirations, their need for recognition and their thirst for freedom in an epic in which everyday objects are the escape from their weariness.

Presented over 300 times, the show has won rave reviews:

"The freshness of your proposal, the accuracy of your message and the precision of your handling make Caisse 606 a promising work. What strikes you first of all is the undeniable talent of two young actresses who are throwing themselves wholeheartedly into the world of puppetry, image theater and object theater. The marriage of text reminiscent of Tremblay's universe and the delirious manipulations of these two cashiers were the hallmarks of this second edition of OUF! Jocelyn Sioui, former director of OUF! FestivalOffCasteliers, Montreal, 2015 Edition.

"I had an automatic crush when I saw these two braggarts, dressed like the cashiers at your favorite supermarkets, take to the stage. In a totally absurd tone that could almost draw towards musical comedy, they had the crowd bursting into laughter (I included myself in that crowd) on several occasions. From dancing carrots and Red Bulls to leek-tyrannicals, they still managed to bring out the shocking absurdity of routine and the thirst for freedom. Aurélie Leclerc | Festival Vue sur la Relève, Montreal, April 2016
