Juju et Marcelle - Et l'incroyable heure du bain

Juju and Marcelle are twins bursting with energy. From their second-floor bathroom, they reinvent the world to save time...

They prefer to observe life outside, through the window, with their huge binoculars. They'll discover new neighbors playing hopscotch, chase ladybugs and think they're gazelles. Their out-of-the-ordinary bath room will become a place where they can discover the little pleasures of everyday life, and an exploration ground for their wacky ideas. Around their huge bath on legs, they'll sing ritornellos, perform unusual acrobatics, have fun counting their toys and wind up their suspenders. Anything, anything, anything to postpone the fateful moment when the soap touches their beautiful damsel manes. All this, much to the despair of Florent, their clingy teenage brother (almost an adult, pooh!) responsible for looking after them that evening. What do you know, for her, taking a bath is an annual event!

Will they end up dipping their feet in this giant bath? Will Juju and Marcelle be clean, even a little? That's what we're going to find out, because they haven't said their last word, binoculars be damned!

BIO :

Théâtre Omnivore is a theater company whose mission is to create and produce interdisciplinary shows combining theater, music and physical expression. By joining traditional channels of performing arts dissemination with various digital platforms it seeks to promote, support and democratize the production of creative interdisciplinary shows to audiences of all ages. Active since 2011, it stages stories that reflect the complexity of the human being, either by presenting original works, or by breathing new life into landmark dramatic texts.

The company's productions share a political and social scope. This tangent is an opportunity for creators to position themselves in relation to a multitude of current socio-political issues, including the status of women, the rise of radicalism, and the collective identity of Quebecers. In order to facilitate the contribution of the arts to identity-building, and thus to act as a cultural conduit, the company opens the dialogue by inviting the public to position themselves in turn with regard to these issues.
