The exhibition ‘Les mondes invisibles’ by artist Brigitte Dahan will be on show at Galerie Montcalm from 30 May to 28 July 2024.

A celebration of the beauty and diversity of the living world, Les mondes invisibles takes us on an exploration of the living world as the artist questions the place of humans in nature. Brigitte Dahan's clay sculptures act as metaphors for the biological cycle.

From the microscopic to the macroscopic, the different perspectives from which visitors discover the objects allow them to question the origin, nature and purpose of existence. Each work depicts a living reality from a unique angle, highlighting both the strength and fragility of the organisms that we are and those that surround us.

Sculptor and ceramist Brigitte Dahan lives and works in Bromont. After obtaining a bachelor's degree in visual arts from UQAM, she took courses at the Centre des arts visuels de Montréal and the Studio de céramique de Ville-Mont-Royal, among others. There she developed a particular interest in and approach to working with clay. Her work has been shown in a number of art centres and museums in Quebec. In 2023, she will present her exhibition Les mondes invisibles at the Centre d'exposition Yvonne L. Bombardier exhibition centre in Valcourt. During the same period, she took part in the exhibition La danse du geste at the Musée du Haut-Richelieu. In 2022, she took part in the Biennale des artistes des Cantons de l'Est at the Musée des beaux-arts de Sherbrooke and presented a solo exhibition at the Musée Marius Barbeau in St-Joseph-de-Beauce. The winner of several awards, including the Sculpture Desjardins prize in 2022, she was a finalist for the 2019, 2021 and 2022 editions of the François Houdé prize. Her works can be found in numerous private collections in Canada and the United States, and many are displayed in public spaces, notably in the Eastern Townships and Abitibi. His work is also part of art collections, including those of the City of Montreal and the City of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.
