Introductory course - First gestures, first senses

See, feel, understand... then make.

Before you can create, you must first listen to the material. This introductory course offers you a sensitive, hands-on immersion in the world of woodworking, combining theory and practice.

First you'll learn to read grain, feel moisture and recognize local species... then you'll learn about hand tools, their rhythm and uses. You'll discover traditional joints - mortise and tenon, dovetail, etc. - and the beauty of a good joint. - and the beauty of a well-fitting joint.

Then you'll get down to the nitty-gritty: choosing your wood, tracing, cutting, shaping, refining... Step by step, you'll make your first assemblies, which will guide you in your next projects. You'll learn to adapt your body to the tool, listen to the resistance of the material and feel the satisfaction of creating with your hands.

Here, we slow down, observe and adjust. And above all, you learn!
