Ben Racine Band
The Ben Racine Band is one of Montreal's most critically acclaimed blues bands.
The band's sound comes from an incredibly effective rhythm section, blaring saxes and the most precise Telecaster guitar. A signature that has led them to support many great blues artists such as Kenny Blues Boss Wayne, Andria Simone, Shakura S'Aida, Curtis Salgado, Thornetta Davis and Dawn Tyler Watson. They've opened for some of the biggest names in popular music, including Edgar Winter, ZZ Top and Vintage Trouble.
The voice of Gatineau-born Ben Racine is marked by a soulfulness worthy of the greatest R&B artists of the 50's and 60's. Inspired by singers such as Junior Walker, Bill Withers, Stevie Wonder and Clarence Carter, he will take you back to a time when the voice was at the heart of music. Ben is also much more than just a voice. His guitar playing covers a wide range of styles, which will appeal to blues and funk fans alike. From the moment he takes the stage, his infectious energy and charisma combine to make a sound that's completely original. You'll be tapping your feet from the very first notes. As Dawn Tyler Watson's band, they won the JUNO award for the album Mad Love as best album of the year in Canada in 2020, first prize at the 2017 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, where Ben was crowned guitarist of the year and won the Albert King Award.
A must-see for all blues fans who appreciate a truly original composition, infused with the soul of saxophones and the heyday of R & B.
