Alix Parisien is a painter whose artistic practice began nearly two decades ago at a summer camp at the National Gallery of Canada. She later pursued further training with local artists Monique Beauchêne and Danielle Paré. While her path has not always been straightforward, Parisien has developed a strong and committed studio practice, painting daily. Initially known for her vibrant depictions of hockey jerseys—a subject reflecting her deep love of the sport—her work has gained notable recognition, including a painting displayed in the Montreal Canadiens alumni lounge at the Bell Centre. Today, her paintings often explore themes of nature, animals, rivers, and especially birds, which she sees as symbols of freedom. Deeply concerned about climate change, Parisien uses her art to express her vision of the natural world. Prolific and dedicated, she has created an extensive body of work that continues to evolve.
