The arrival in 1926 of Canadian International Paper (CIP), a subsidiary of International Paper, led to the development of a unique historic district reminiscent of New England. Explore this wooded heritage site, where wooden and gabled houses have retained their character of yesteryear. This is the area that gave birth to the small town of Gatineau Mills and later Gatineau, where thousands of workers have labored for generations.

Ville de Gatineau is an inclusive and accessible community. You can contact our team at programmationete@gatineau.ca for more information on the accessibility of our sites and activities. Plan your trips with the STO's Plani-Bus.
